I climbed a volcano this week. A volcano that was still warm. Here’s a video of the 360 view from the top of said volcano (Eldfell on the island of Heimaey in the Westman Islands). I have more videos from my Iceland trip uploaded to vimeo if you’re interested.
hey i’m in a movie! this volcano erupted in 1973 and is STILL warm to the touch. 1 meter down, temperatures of 470 C! incredible. the bumpy looking land is where the lava flowed. the city was there and narrowly escaped irreparable damage. instead, the eruption increased their island’s size by 25% and provided them with an even more beautiful landscape.
